The course's goal is inner peace.
It's a different way of thinking based on spiritual oneness but expressed in Christian terminology to help us correct some long held misconceptions about the nature of reality and Love. Christian words present in our childhood and basic concepts such as 'love', 'time', 'forgiveness', 'relationships', take on another meaning and we can look at the message of Jesus with a deeper understanding and much more clarity. We do not need to believe in Jesus to be helped by the course. Its work is not based on faith but on experience. All that is required is "a little willingness". With this learning that combines spirituality and psychology, we come to interpret our daily perceptions according to a goal established at the beginning of the experience. Each meeting has the potential to become a holy instant that will give us deliverance from time - if only for a short moment, but it will be forever useful to us in finding what we need most: peace and joy while we seek to recover our true Identity among illusions.
"Your part is only to offer Him a little willingness to let him remove all fear and hatred, and to be forgiven. On your little faith, joined to His understanding, He will build your part in the Atonement and make sure that you fulfill it easily".
( T. V.2:5-6)
A Course in Miracles is a personal journey seeking to undo guilt through forgiveness in special relationships. It is a learning process and it requires practice. We are led by an inner guidance called the Voice for truth or the Holy Spirit. It is not a religion or a cult. It does not present itself in dogmatic form and intends to be only one way among many. It could be yours.
ACIM in Portuguese was published in 1995 with the three books in one volume: Text, Workbook and Manual for Teachers in 1621 pages. The teachings of the course are inspiring in its poetic language and conceptual integrity, but they are mostly practical. It works.
"It is their use that will give them meaning to you, and will show you that they are true" (WB. Intro.8:6) |
