The Institute for Spiritual Education aims at being truly helpful to students of A COURSE IN MIRACLES.
We believe that this course is best learned and taught in joining. When no joining seems to occur, the intention suffices. For this journey one needs to learn to understand a new language, where the meaning given to words and events in the past no longer apply. It is a world in which the lessons can be meaningful only when seen on a new or open screen in our minds. One must be willing to question and to let go of old ideas. As Ken says, it is a process and the course is always kind.
It’s a road where you walk in pairs and you learn mostly through your own mistakes. This is our experience. The means are relationships and that’s why we are here.
Through the teaching-learning process that goes on spontaneously in every meeting no matter where they are at or what they believe to be the truth, the two people involved can be saved, freed from terror to love.
The Institute aims at being helpful in every possible way. We follow the same guidelines that rule FIP and FACIM in our undertakings. IEE was founded in 1995 to import the first 6000 copies of UCEM printed by FIP in the USA to Brazil. By January 1999, we had sold 12.000 copies in Portuguese without commercial distribution and without investing anything in marketing. Our history has been challenging and inspiring.
Since 2000 , we have not had any books to distribute because of illegal practices from the publisher, Paulo Andrade from Editora Abalone, in spite of having a valid contract signed by FIP. The story is told in Red and Black.
We have a newsletter that should come out every three months called O FAROL. It includes texts meant to clarify UCEM’s principles and practice, news about the course in Brasil and the world, guidelines concerning natural resources, alternative medicine, psychotherapy; poetry, cinema, and listing of books, tapes, and videos about the course. We have printed the Supplements to ACIM in Portuguese in 1998. We have finally made available the videos Encontros com Lillian Paes and Studies 2000. Unfortunately, we have had no resources to continue printing our Farol as we did for 4 years. We keep on hoping the fruits of our dedication won't be long in coming.If you would like to contribute, we will make sure that your energy – be it monetary or other will be put to good use.
